H.E. Dr Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq and Minister of Finance gives an interview to the IBBC at our 9th Annual Spring Conference at the Mansion House, London.
Dr Hussein praises the work of the IBBC and its members in helping strengthen Iraq’s private sector with the support of British businesses during its 10 years of existence. He additionally shares kind words of appreciation for Baroness Nicholson, the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Iraq and President of the Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC).
The oil and gas sector table assists Iraq in the sustainable development of its reserves to enjoy the best possible economic and social development that such natural resource wealth will bring.
A focus on assisting Iraq in the effective and sustainable development of Iraq’s infrastructure. Through identifying and categorising the need and best route to market for construction and infrastructure in areas including water, sewerage, roads and airports and working with Government agencies.
The financial and professional services table aims to work with its Iraqi counterparts to support the promotion of a business environment that simplifies and eases the operation of Iraqi and non-Iraqi companies in Iraq.
The education, training and heritage sector table has been established to advise and support the growth of the education sector in Iraq.
The Tech table is lead by Mr Mohamed Khudairi of Khudairi group, and supported by Mr Osman Botan or Restrata in the UK, Mr Al Dahawi in Iraq and Mr Al Zahid CEO of Zain. We aim to meet three times a year at the main conferences, and to include as many members in this new initiative as possible. The group is coordinated by IBBC in London, and there is a linked in tech group that members can engage in.
